Electric Fetus in Minneapolis celebrates Wrecka Stow Day AKA Record Store Day purple style

Record collectors and music fans of the Twin Cities always mark this day on their calendar, a day created to celebrate independently owned record stores. This year marks the tenth anniversary for the international music holiday that Electric Fetus has been celebrating every year since its inception.

Keeping tradition, the Fetus promises exclusive releases only available at indie record stores, in-store performances from local artists, prize giveaways, local food and drinks and music-loving company.

In honor of Record Store Day weekend and to pay tribute to Prince, Electric Fetus has added two in-store performances to continue the celebration:

Susannah Melvin: Sunday, April 23rd, 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.

Ida Nelson, 3rdeyegirl and New Power Generation bassist: Monday, April 24th, 1-3 p.m.

His purpleness has several 12-inch singles hitting stores, including Sign O’ the Times single, I Could Never Take the Place of Your Man, Batdance and the seven-inch picture disc featuring Little Red Corvette and 1999.

Prince supported Record Store Day and last year, he even stopped by Electric Fetus for Record Store Day 2016. He bought six CDs including Stevie Wonder’s Talking Book, Chambers Brothers The Time Has Come, Joni Mitchell’s Hejira, Swan Silvertones’s Inspirational Gospel Classics, The Best Of Missing Persons, and Santana’s Santana IV.
